I would reccomend getting the cheaper plastic bolts as I found a larger shattering problem with the aluminum ones that I had. We started with 36 bolts and I wound up only bringing home 15, definitely putting in an order for a lot more. In the course of 3 hours of shooting on and off (had to eat dinner at some point ), the string showed a little fray, mainly from where the string hits the stops after fired, Im working on trying to find something to coat the metal stops with so hopefully it will be easier on the strings, but accessories (strings, bows, bolts, etc) are really cheap. I would definitely suggest picking up a few extra strings, maybe an extra bow or two, some rail lube and bow wax, and alot, I mean alot of bolts! I found nothing but value in this, I was able to pick mine up for 26 dollars on special, now I see them at 40-50, but I would still say that it is well worth it. Several that missed target hit trees and shattered the bolts. The bolts were sinking well through the 10 inches or so of cardboard as well as the foam to the point where several were only held in the target by the very tip of the tail end on the backside. a 3 inch grouping at 45 ft and feel I could have brought this down if the daylight hadnt given out on me. When the bolts started to hit target, I was able to get approx. The sights are good but took a lot of lost darts whipping into the woods lost forever before I got them adjusted decently, unfortunately you have to be very careful as its very easy to move the sight, there is one offered now with a much better sight that I will probably pick up as my gf wants her own. The target we set up was a cardboard box filled with flattened cardboard to a depth of about 10 inches and a piece of packing foam with a target drawn on. Im also thinking of adding some sort of small stock to the rear to make it easier to shoulder. ![]() ![]() When getting ready to fire I will warn to watch your hand not on the pistol grip, keep your thumb and fingers under the cocking rails and you'll be fine, if not you will get a horrible string slap and end up with blood pooling under your nail like my thumb currently has Im thinking of adding a foregrip to alleviate any chance of this. The safety is solid and doesnt seem liable to just come undone at anytime, and the system "locks" the bolt in place so carrying ready to go is easy. The Cocking mechanism is smooth and easy to operate, though a couple smaller females that were using it had trouble cocking it due to lack of strength, but with practice and a little hip to it they were pulling it off just fine. Putting the crossbow together was simple, though stringing the bow took myself and my gf and Im not a small weak man. This is so not the case here, it actually seems well constructed and sturdy and is definitely potentially lethal. So I bought one of these awhile ago and just finally got a chance to take it out for a trial and figuired I would post a review for anyone here thats interested.įirst impresssions is that its more of a toy than a serious weapon. 80 Lbs Cobra Self-cocking Crossbow Pistol Cross Bow 15 Arrows : : Sports & Outdoors (you can find it cheaper than amazon if you look around, BUDK has 20% off through the end of today on everything in store) ![]()
